Expanding Sanctuary: Film Screening and Discussion Expanding Sanctuary follows an immigrant mother who becomes a powerful community leader in the fight to end police data-sharing with ICE. The film captures her transformation from personal desire to bring her mother to the U.S. into a passionate, collective movement for immigrant rights and family protection.

The Latino Health Collective hosts a monthly virtual Town Hall meeting that brings together organizations and community members working to support the Latino community in Philadelphia. These virtual meetings provide a space to share resources, discuss emerging needs, and strengthen collaboration among organizations serving Latino residents.
The Town Hall is held on the first Thursday of each month via Zoom and includes simultaneous English–Spanish interpretation. Information on previous and upcoming Townhall meetings below. Email [email protected] with questions or inquiries. |
Join the LHC in a film screening and conversation with documentary film maker Krystal Sotomayor, and film protagonist, organizer and community resident Linda Hernandez. We will explore ways in which community organizing has changed and evolved in recent years, celebrate and highlight the ways that collective action is personal, and look ahead at opportunities to stand up for ourselves and our neighbors. This will be a virtual screening and discussion, Thursday, May 7, 2026, 4:00-5:00pm.
